Doyle Brindley Obituary

DOYLE IRA BRINDLEY Doyle Ira Brindley, a cherished soul known for his loving generosity and deep faith, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on December 14, 2025, in his hometown of West Branch, Michigan. Born July 8, 1930, to Albert and Mae (Hiltz) Brindley, Doyle's life was a testament to the values he held dear, and his legacy is one that will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Doyle's journey through life was marked by devotion and service to his country as a young man. He bravely served in the Korean War, where his acts of valor were recognized with a Bronze Star for Bravery. After his honorable discharge, Doyle returned home and embarked on a career as a truck driver, a role he performed with dedication until his retirement at the age of 80. His hard work and commitment to his profession were matched only by his involvement with the Lewiston Garden Clubs, where his green thumb and passion for gardening earned him an Exemplary Garden Award. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. A man of faith, Doyle's Catholic beliefs were the cornerstone of his existence, guiding him through life's challenges and joys. His love for farming and gardening was a natural extension of his faith, as he nurtured and cultivated the land with the same care and attention he provided to his family and friends. Doyle's garage was another sanctuary where he could often be found tinkering, always ready to lend a helping hand or share a piece of wisdom. He always liked to stay busy, whether that be golf cart rides in the sunshine or successfully building a shed at the age of 92. Doyle was a loving husband to his wife, Sharron Brindley (Shay). He was a guiding light and a pillar of strength to his children, Carl Brindley, Lorinda (Bruce) Fritz, Rita (Charles) Grigsby, Cathy (Bob) Buhlman, Larry (Debra) Brindley, and Dan (Tammy) Stubbe. Doyle's legacy of love continued through his 23 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren, all of whom he cherished deeply. His brother, Lyle (Jan) Brindley, along with many nieces and nephews, will hold dear the memories of his warmth and guidance. Doyle's fur baby, Corkey, also held a special place in his heart. He is preceded in death by his late wife, Doris Brindley (Sheppard), and parents, two sons, Harold and Keith Leeseburg, as well as many siblings. Doyle Ira Brindley lived a life that was full and meaningful. His presence was a gift to those around him, and his memory will continue to inspire and comfort his loved ones. As we bid farewell to this remarkable man, we celebrate the lasting impact he made on the world and the countless lives he touched with his loving, generous, and faith-filled spirit. Doyle's story is one of a life well-lived and a legacy of love that will endure for generations to come. A memorial mass will take place on January 8th, 2026, at Holy Family Catholic Church, at 10:00 am, with full Military honors as well as recognition from the Knights of Columbus.
