Lyle G. Scharrer

LYLE G. SCHARRER Lyle G. Scharrer, age 82, passed away at home surrounded by his family on October 27, 2025.  He was born on August 3, 1943, to Verl and Elzina Scharrer in Flint, MI.  Lyle married the love of his life, Sharon Ann Price, on January 13, 1964.  Shortly after they married, he joined the Navy.  After being honorably discharged, he and his family settled in Burton, MI, until moving to Ogemaw County in 1999.  Lyle worked for General Motors as a truck driver for 34 years until retiring in 1998.  He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing, trapping, and any type of outdoor activity, no matter what the season.  Lyle survived by his wife of 61 years, Sharon, children, Anthony G. Scharrer and Dulice E. (Leo Vliet III) Scharrer, sister Linda Scharrer, brother Victor Scharrer, 5 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.  He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Penny Besednjak, and brother Melwin Scharrer.  A Celebration of Life and Luncheon will be held on Sunday, November 16, 2025 at the Skidway Lake Chamber of Commerce from 2:00 to 5:00 pm.
