Dr. Alif A. Kuri "Al"

Dr. Alif A. Kuri "Al," 78, passed away on Feb. 26, 2005.

Dr. Kuri was born on Feb. 19, 1927, in Trip oli, Lebanon. He was the beloved hus band of Wafa; loving father of three, Phillip (wife, Camille), Steven (wife, Michelle), and Lillian (husband, Kevin); and cherished grandfather of five, Samir, Peter, Phillip, Sidney, and Mason.

Dr. Kuri graduated from Med ical School from the American University of Beirut in 1954. In 1955, he came to the United States to attend the University of Virginia Medical School, where he received degrees in general surgery and ear, nose, and throat specialties. He then attended Columbia University to receive another specialty in plastic surgery. From 1963- 1965, he returned to the University of Virginia Medical School to teach. In 1965, Dr. Kuri came to Ravenna, Ohio, where he made his home and opened his private practice in plastic surgery and ENT. He served the community for 30 years at Robinson Memorial Hospital, where he was president of the medical staff from 1982 to 1983. In 1976, he organized the construction of the Medical Arts building with partners adjacent to Robinson Memorial Hospital. In 1979, he began construction of the North Park Condominium Complex, which has been taken over by his children as a family busi ness. Dr. Kuri retired in 1995. He was an avid golfer and ten nis player.

The family will receive friends at a reception on SUNDAY, MARCH 6, FROM 4 to 7 p.m., AT TWIN LAKES COUNTRY CLUB, 1519 OVERLOOK DR., KENT, OHIO 44240.
