Olivia, Rebekah, Nicholas;
We're so sorry to learn of your loss, and will keep you in our prayers. I don't know that I have the right words for you, but I will offer encouragement, as I am walking the road you're on. I pray that through your grief, you find joy in knowing that your father will receive his reward. I also pray that you begin to see his triumph here on Earth, as it is manifested in each of your lives. He's touched the lives of so many, but I will always remember him as a worshipper. My fondest memories of him are in practice with "God's Portion", leading "Center of My Joy", and chasing after you kids :) We all love you very much, and are here for you always.

Crystal King and Family,

Thank you for the pleasure of getting to know Alton many years ago. Alton was a good man. He had a way of making anyone laugh or smile, and his serious side allowed him to accept people for who they were. He love his children and his extended family greatly. I watched you and Al stick together through the good and the bad, and I'm sure that helped to put him to rest peacefully.

My thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief. May your memories bring you comfort.

To the family of Alton, my heart goes out to all that grieve for him, please know that he is in the arms of the great creator. Just knowing that Al knew the Lord Jesus as his own personal savior, helps me to have a peace in my heart that he is in the grandest place of all. (Ecclesiastes 3:1-4). I had the pleasure of working with Al @ Excelsior and I have to admit, we had some very good laughs. I am truely blessed to have known him.

Our prayers and thoughts goes out to the Williams and McKinnie family. Bro. Williams often visited our ministry on tuesday night just to fellowship and share his faith in God. I had serveral conversations with Bro. Williams and even though he faced grim realities he seem to accept them and give God glory any way.

I thank God for Bro. Williams, I am a better pastor because he visited us and our church is a better church. Bro. Williams is certainly in the hands of Jesus.

I met Alton at U.L.Light when I was in 9th grade. For some reason, he felt like he had to watch out for me. I remember that he came to my rescue on more than one occasion. I've thought of him often over the years, and now I will keep him in my prayers. My deepest sympathy to all of Alton's family.

My prayers are with Alton's family in this time of grief. I cannot believe he is gone. I grew up knowing Alton because he was best friends with my uncle, Tracy James. Alton was like family to the whole James Family in Barberton. When my grandmother, Bessie James, died in 2005, I remember calling Alton on the phone to tell him and we cried together. He will be missed.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

I worked with Al and immediately liked Al and his good sense of humor. We had many conversations concerning our relationship with Jesus, the Christ, and how "we sure are glad God made it by Grace and not by Works", or we'd be in a "heep of trouble." God, in His Word, made it very clear "Absent from the Body, present with the Lord." Where Al is, there is NO Recession, just Praise! I'm sorry, family, for your loss, Al was a fun guy... but he is in good hands now, and it isn't by some insurance company either!
