Aneta Allen, 80, died July 15, 2006.
Aneta was born in Akron and had lived here all of her life. She retired from the City of Akron Police Department, and was an active member of the Philoptohos Melissa Society, the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, and the Daughters of Penelope, where she was a past president. Aneta was very proud of her granddaughters, Angela and Gigi, and loved them dearly.
Preceded in death by her parents, William and Tasia Allen; her brother, John Allen; and sister, Peggy Allen, she is survived by her daughter, Katy (George) Jumbert, and granddaughters, Angela and Gigi Jumbert.
Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. THURSDAY at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 129 S. Union St., Akron, Ohio 44304, with Rev. Fr. Louis Mahshie officiating. Interment at Rose Hill Burial Park. Friends may call at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., WEDNESDAY from 6 until 9 p.m., with a Trisagios service at 8 p.m and a Daughters of Penelope service following. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church Building Fund or the Good Samaritans, 129 S. Union St., Akron, Ohio 44304. (Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 330-867-4141.)
