Austin Wehr Obituary

Austin (Lou) Wehr

Austin (Lou) Wehr, born April 8, 1935, in Baben, Pa., lived in Akron most of his life before moving to Sutton, W. Va.

He served in the U.S. Army, 126th Ord. Army Division, and was honorably discharged in 1959. He drove a truck for many years for Duff Trucking Lines and retired from the Teamsters Local 24 with over 25 years of service. He enjoyed showing his one-of-a-kind Richard Petty truck and won many awards. This was his pride and joy, next to his grandkids.

He was preceded in death by son, John L.; sister, Bobbi Lee; and father, William L., and is survived by daughters, Barb (Rick) Wilmoth, Jackie (Don) Fisher, Janice (Tracy) Butler, Mary Norman; seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; best friends, Glen and Jeanette Barnard and family; mother, Elsie; and sisters, Norma and Phyllis.

Services at New Horizons Church, 290 Darrow Rd., Akron (733-3533), on Wednesday at 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to 269 Sumatra Ave., Akron, Ohio 44305.
