Bea Medlin Obituary

Evangelist Bea Medlin went home to be with the Lord June 13, 2010.

She was a resident of Akron, Ohio for over 60 years. Bea was born in Gastonia, N.C. and later moved to Akron, Ohio, with her husband and children, Linda and Mel, whom she dearly loved. As a Pastor and Evangelist, God called her to build and minister in three churches. The home church is Calvary Rock in Uniontown, Ohio. She later built Calvary Tabernacle in Rockingham, N.C. and Calvary Crusade Church in Mt. Holly, N.C. In addition to her churches, her greatest joy was evangelizing throughout the world and ministering to the sick and praying for souls. Just as she loved to minister for the Lord, her love was also poured out to her family. ``Chicken N Dumplins' was ``the meal' she prepared for all her kids, and was the meal the family looked forward to most! Mom, we're all going to miss you and your ``Dumplins'. She will also be missed by her ``church family' who loved her like a mother.

Preceded in death by her son, Melvin V. Medlin; daughter, Linda J. Clay; brothers and sisters, Lillian Smith ``Tay', Leitha Crisp ``Pete', Judson Angley and Cleo McDonald; Bea is survived by her son-in-law, Vic Clay, Sr. (Toni); daughter-in-law, Chiquita A. Medlin; grandchildren, Vicky L. McDaniel (Don), Vic Clay, Jr. (Nicole) and Missy A. Medlin; great-grandchildren, Ashley McDaniel (Dylan), Shawn McDaniel and Seth Clay; brothers, Rev. Ernest Angley and ``Nick' Clyde Angley (Aline).

Funeral services will be held Monday, 2 p.m., at Hopkins Lawver UNIONTOWN Funeral Home, 3553 Northdale Street, (1 block NW of the square of 619 and Cleveland Ave.)., with Rev. Barbara Davis officiating. Burial at Greenlawn Cemetery in Uniontown. Friends may call Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and on Monday, one hour prior to the service, from 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home. The family suggests memorial donations be made to Calvary Crusade Inc., P.O. Box 6125, Akron, Ohio 44312. (Hopkins Lawver, UNIONTOWN, 330-733-6271) www.hopkinslawver.com

Hope to see you again soon. You were and always will be MY HERO. Loved you and your ministry since I was 12 years old. So happy I found you again. I will so miss your prayers for me and my family. Like everyone has said, our loss is Heaven's gain. I know how thrilled you must have been to have been hugged and greeted by Jesus, then Mel and Linda. Now you are happy again. Your family will always be in my prayers. Love you always. Sue

So sad to hear that Sis. Medlin has passed away. I live in Dallas and she has held revivals in this area many years ago. She was a very special messenger of the Lord. I pray for her family for their loss. She is in a place of joy and rejoicing now, waiting for all of us to join her, especially the ones she has blessed through the years.

Our prayers are with the family. Especially with Chitquita and Missy, she often spoke of how much you two helped her.
We know that Sis Medlin and Jocko is
rejoicing in Heaven, with Jesus, Mel and Linda and all the others that she lead to the Lord. Wow! what rejoicing that must be. We love Sis Medlin like our own Mother. She was always there to pray or just to listen.
I know no other greater Saint than
Sis Medlin. Surely our loss is Heaven's gain. We will forever miss her,but know that someday we will see her again. She taught us all enough about Jesus just to "Keep on Keeping on"

Sister Medlin was like a mother to us. We will miss her dearly. She was there for us when we needed prayer or when we just needed someone to talk to. She is with her children and the thousands of other souls she won over for God. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family.
