It's been a year since your journey ended here and began with Him. Your absence is still felt deeply among everyone and you still continue to touch everyone's lives. I still am amazed at how lucky I am to have had you as a part of my life when I did. Your gentle, kind spirit lives on in all of us as we all try to live as you did: with honesty, integrity and most of all, with faith. I love you and still miss you very much. Until we meet again...

To the Lewis and Weems families,
My heart goes out to each of you as you continue to mourn Ms. Weems. I first met her when Ericka and I were in gradeschool together, and she was always the nicest person to everyone. She always had a smile on her face and was always willing to help others. Some of my favorite memories of her are from when Ericka and I would play basketball together, and she would always be cheering so loudly for our team. She was one of our biggest fans and greatest supporters. I still have my jersey from our 8th grade year that she donated to all of us. Ms. Weems was the most caring, compassionate, and sweet woman I had ever met, and I will deeply miss her. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you as you find the strength to continue on without the bright presence that she was in everyone's life. May God be with all of you, and I know that she will always be with everyone in spirit. To say that she was a great lady would be an understatement, and she will be deeply, deeply missed by all.
All my thoughts and prayers,
~Amy Clark

To the Lewis and Weems family:

There's an open gate at the end of the road through which each must go alone. And there is a light we cannot see, Our Father claims his own. Beyond the gate our loved one finds happiness and rest, and that is comfort in the thoughts that a loving GOD knows best. May GOD continue to bless you and keep you strong.

Brenda I did listen to you in more ways than one....I'll never forget the visits where she would bring Vance garlic and tomatoe recipies to help his body through his Cancer; even through her own illness. I will NEVER forget the kind words that she spoke..... Say hello to Vance for me.

To the Lewis/Weems family: Please do not be unhappy just because she's out of sight, remember that she's with you every morning, noon and night. That day she had to leave you when her life on earth was through, God picked her up and hugged her and He said, "Brenda, I welcome you."

May God carry you all through the difficult road ahead. You are in my prayers.

I moved on to the same street as the Weems family a couple of years ago and didn't have the opportunity to get to know Brenda as well as I would have liked. But the few encounters I did have with her were so pleasant, she was always so kind and gracious. Everyone in the neighborhood spoke so highly of her. I first met Brenda in a Hotel lobby at the NBA Draft in New York
with family and friends, there to support LeBron James.Brenda and I made an instant connection and ended up being put in charge of transportation for all friends and family to the event the following day.As we were attempting to accomadate everyone and there request, we noticed that we had not included ourselves in any of the arrangements and were left without transportation to the arena.
With that being the case she decieded to contact a taxi cab to transport us to the arena. As we sat in the back of the taxi 15-20 minutes late for the event dawned on me that she had sacraficed her place at the event to accomodate others ...because that is what was impottant to make sure that those around her had what they needed and not to worry about herself, because she new that God would look out for her.I bonded with Brenda that night and have remained in contact with her since that day even though we live thousands of miles appart we remained friends and kept in touch...she touched my life the second I met her. I HAVE GRONW TO LOVE HER FOR...HER ABILITY TO NOT BE HER OWN FIRST PRIORITY. AND TO ALWAYS CONSIDER OTHERS.
