Carol Pulk Obituary

It is with great sadness, but also joy, that the friends and family of Carol Hecht Pulk share the news of her heavenly home going on August 18, 2011 after a long, courageous battle with breast cancer.

Carol has loved her Lord and Savior and has found peace and comfort knowing she will live with Him forever.

Carol was the loving daughter and best friend of her beloved mother, Blanche Hecht, who passed away in 2004. Carol was born October 25, 1947 and raised in Lancaster, Pa. Following high school graduation she attended the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City, receiving her degree in 1968. Her diverse career included a department store fashion buyer as well as creating the first teen fashion board in the area. She then joined Hilton Hotels as a sales and catering representative.

After moving to the San Francisco Bay area in 1974 she continued her hotel sales career with Royal Inns of America. In 1987 she moved to Hudson, Ohio and later joined J.C. Penny Custom Decorating as a design consultant where she twice achieved the highest director's award as the top decorator in the nation. Carol's artistic talents were very much evident in her beautiful home. Her custom made jewelry and art have been featured in numerous national bead publications and retail stores.

Carol and Chloe, her precious Maltese, are survived by a cousin, Carol Wright on Sinks Grove, West Virginia; and most treasured friends, Pat Schron, Pat Pownall, Risa Sheeler, Carolyn Howell, Michele Plazo, and the Cooley, Friedl and Jones families. Special lifelong friends, Linda Morris, Linda Garrett, Linda Sperry, Ellyn Mishkin and Sue Goldman will dearly miss Carol. She is also survived by her former husband, David Pulk.

Special thanks are given to Dr. and friend Gayleen Kolaczewski and everyone at the Hospice of the Visiting Nurse Association, especially to Norma and Patti. XXXOOO to all who cared so much.

Cremation has taken place. A graveside memorial service will be held at a later date.

``For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the Lord, ``plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.' Jeremiah 29:11

My heartfelt condolences. I met Carol on an interisland flight in Hawaii. She and I became friends ever since. She made me teddy bears which I cherish so much. I just mailed her a birthday card, sent an email and got no response...I googled her name and just found out she passed. My heart aches so much...I miss her and know she is in a better place. Rest in peace and fondest Aloha. Jeri Velasco Honolulu, Hawaii If anyone can let me know what happened I would appreciate it. [email protected]

Carol was always so wonderfully talented and creative. Her home was like a magnificent museum. My heart aches to know that she and Chloe are gone. I am grateful that God let our paths cross. Rest in peace, dear friend~~~~

We are so sorry about the passing of Carol. We spent time with Carol and her mother in New Orleans at a JCP Directors Awards event, and have retained a friendship ever since. We are so glad that she had many good friends with her throught this illness. Carol is now at peace. With Sincere Sympathy,
