"REUNITED"

Claude P. Morton

Claude P. Morton, 83, died Monday, April 22, 2002, at Hospice Care Center.

Born in Independence, Va., in 1918, he served in the U.S. Army 38th Infantry Division "Avengers of Battan" during World War II, where he received the Silver Star. Retired from Seiberling Tire & Rubber Co. after 30 years of service, he was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Akron Baptist Temple. His unselfish nature, caring ways and devotion to his family and friends will be forever cherished and remembered by everyone whose life he touched.

He was an excellent role model of strength and morality in the lives of his daughters and grandsons. Always active, Claude enjoyed working in his yard and garden and, after retirement, found the love of golf.

Preceded in death by his devoted wife of 51 years, Clora, and by numerous brothers and sisters, he is fondly remembered and admired by his daughters, Shirley (Niran) Shah of Bath, Glenda (Tom) Gard ner of Wadsworth; grandson, Nik and Brian Shah, Matt and Brett Nida.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Copley Greens and Hospice Care Center.

Funeral services Friday, 1 p.m., at the Campfield-Hickman-Collier Funeral Home, with Pastor Jackie Poe officiating. Burial at Greenlawn Cemetery, with military graveside services conducted by V.F.W. 3383. Visitation TODAY, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and one hour prior to the service. Contributions may be made to Hospice Care Center, 3358 Ridgewood Rd., Fairlawn 44333. (Campfield-Hickman-Col lier, 330-745-3161.)

Claude was a beautiful, gentle man and we all thoroughly enjoyed everday that he came out to golf at our course (Copley Greens). Our condolences go out to the whole family and we will miss his smiling face greatly.
