Dominic Davis Obituary
Our beloved, Dominic Davis went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 7, 2009.
Dominic was born to Vaughn and Sheila Davis on October 12, 1989. Dominic attended Akron Public Schools, was active in church youth groups, and was employed in the family business, Davis & Davis Remodeling. The warmth of Dominic's good natured, positive, warm personality and genuine smile will be missed by all who knew him. His life was short but he had a large and giving heart.
He was preceded in death by grandfathers, Herbert H. Hill and Eddie McGowan. He leaves to mourn his passing devoted parents, Vaughn A. and Sheila Davis; brothers, Vaughn A. Davis, Jr., Donovan (Jan) Davis; sister, Danielle (Sullivan) Rogers; grandmothers, Pansy E. Hill, Delia Mae McGowan; a very large loving family of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, goddaughter, Jada Snowden; special friends, Justin Snowden, Ivory Brown, Antoine Norris, Richard Austin, Thomas Cheairs and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 11, 2009 at Sommerville Funeral Services, 1695 Diagonal Rd., Akron, Ohio 44320. Calling hours 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.; funeral service begins at 12 noon, Pastor Terry Allen officiating. Interment at Rose Hill Burial Park. Condolences may be sent to 1148 Nordica Ave., Akron, Ohio 44314.

When God takes someone from us, it is always for a good reason. When the sheep have grazed and thinned the grass in the lower regions, the shepherd will take a little lamb in his arms, carry it up the moutain where the grass is green, lay it down, and soon the other sheep will follow.
Every now and then our lord takes a lamb from the parched field of a family up to those Heavenly Green pastures, that the rest of the family may keep their eyes on their true home and follow through.
We weep for Dominic are tears watering hope to meet in heaven.

I saw your child in the obituary today and it brought back memories of my own difficult experience a couple of years ago. Why must we bury our children? I’d like to extend my condolences and deepest sympathy to your family during this difficult time. DOMINIC this doesnt seem real at all. As i look back we had so many memories. You were my first love. I cant explain in words how much i hurt. I just found out about you Dominic. I've been thinking a lot about you lately since I haven't heard back from you, but now I know why. Dominic I love you. You are my best friend, my brother, the love of my life. I will NEVER forget you or the things you've done for me and the things we've done together. I have missed you so much this past year, and now I will forever miss you, your laugh, your smile, your so damn silly! I'll miss that too. Swimming and riding bikes, playing sports, climibing trees, wrestling and causing chaos in the hood, eating grapes, and stealing Gambles strawberries lol, hanging in the woods behind your house lol..then of course we grew up then we would just be "chillin" lol, those rides in my car, things we did, just chillin in the room, playing video games, parties, everything. So much time we spent together, but it will not be lost. You and your family will always hold a place in my heart and mind. And no matter how far apart we become, I know can look forward to seeing you again. I love you! I miss you! FOREVER AND ALWAYS!!!

To the Davis Family, I was deeply saddened when I heard about your loss. I can remember when Sheila was pregnant w/Dominic and we would tease Danielle about getting another little rockhead brother.
