Don Phillips Obituary

Don B. Phillips

Don B. Phillips, 58, of Akron, passed away December 7, 2013.

He enjoyed helping others with home and auto repairs; there wasn't anything he couldn't fix or learn to fix! He frequently visited with neighbors and friends, and even delivery people around his home.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, Donald B. and Mary (Griggy) Phillips, and nephew, Brian Phillips. He is survived by his children, Shean (Angie) Phillips of Winston-Salem, N.C., Rachel Baldridge of Green, Mark (Teri) Phillips of Green, and Sharon Phillips of Cuyahoga Falls; grandchildren, Ariana and Tatiana Phillips; and siblings, Dave (Beverly) Phillips of Tallmadge, Debbie (Walt) Powell of Akron, and Darlene (James) Norton of Stow.

The family will receive friends Friday, December 13, 2013 from 11:30 a.m. until time of service at 12 p.m. at The Chapel (135 Fir Hill, Akron) in the Berean Room. Graveside service will be held Friday, 1:30 p.m. at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675. (ADAMS MASON FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 330-535-9186)

Don, was a wonderful and caring man. I enjoyed Rockin on the River or seeing him at one of Bob Earleys Concerts or talking on the phone.
He was always ready to lend a helping hand and enjoyed helping Dan work on his truck
We enjoyed wings together and talking about his illness and the outcome. Me being a Hospice Nurse Don and I were open with eachother.
Don loved his children and talked of them often and dearly loved his puppies. He will be missed by many and never forgotten.
Rest In Eternal Peace...See You Soon.
Love .

Don, I know how you felt about all of this, and I hope that on this day you are aware of how much you were loved and how you touched people's lives. I will miss you, my friend.

Thank you little brother, for being my friend, my confidant, my helper and advisor. I can't imagine how empty life will be without you. I looked forward to the nightly "have a good nite, I love you" on Facebook. I'll never see it again. I love you, miss you more than anyone can imagine. If I may, on your and my behalf, I'd like to thank Gary Older Sr. and Dave Spitaleri for their unlimited devotion and care. I know you loved them both tremendously and they are suffering too. Be well, finally, little brother, and rest.
