A lifelong friendship started at Nesmith Lake. Don was truly a self made man, starting with 2 Army surplus trucks. He built that into a great crane business. Paul and Jason were crane operators! In his spare time he built my house on Whittlesey!! We were one door away, and our kids grew up together, and they remain close today. Miss him still today.....

Melanie, Jason and Donovan.... Its been many years since I have seen you guys, I have thought about you through the years and have smiled each time I did. I still remember the time we spent at your home playing. It saddened me to hear that your dad passed away. Mom (Pamela) sends her condolences as well. My heart aches for you all. I will keep you in my prayers.

Don Smith will forever be remembered here at the Home Builders Association. Not only was Don a local President but he was one of only 5 men from our local over a 69 year history that was also a State President.
Further, it was my experience that your Dad treated everyone with respect.
So sorry to see him pass. He will be missed at this year's Gatherinhg of the Eagles. I know he soaring somewhere.

A generous friend. Watching him start with a Army Surplus Truck he outfitted with a crane. He was a self made man. Thanks for the Whittlesey memories.
