A resident of Barberton for 60 years, he was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, retired as owner/ operator of Olson Sheet Metal, and was a member of American Legion 473 Copley.
Preceded in death by brothers, Harry Jr. and Paul, he is survived by his wife of 60 years, Irene; daughters, Linda (Edwin) Pinnick of Barberton, Beverly (Kenneth) Babcock of Norton; grandsons, Michael (Kim) Bailey, Matthew (Jennifer) Bailey, Brian Babcock, Greg Babcock; great-grandsons, Nicholas and Alex; brothers, Richard (Margaret), Jerry (Gladys); sisters, Mary (George) Walker, Patricia (Jerry) Sponseller; many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Monday, 10 a.m., at the Campfield-Hickman-Collier Funeral Home with Rev. Emery Laszlo officiating. Burial at Greenlawn Cemetery, where military graveside services will be conducted by American Legion 473 along with VFW Post 7971. Visitation Sunday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Legion 473, P.O. Box 4091, Copley, Ohio 44321.
