Dorsalene Parsons

1918 - 2021

) Parsons Together Forever Wadsworth -- Dorsalene (Darnell) Parsons joined her Savior, our Blessed Lord Jesus, and her husband, Garland C. Parsons on Sunday, December 6, 2020. She passed away of Dementia at age 102. She was born on December 4, 1918, educated in Akron and married to Garland for 59 years. She graduated from Akron East High School and Actual Business College in 1937. She also attended Akron University and had several secretarial positions working for Firestone Tire and Rubber Company, Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co., and Burch Directory Co. She was also the Bookkeeper and Office Manager for the Chicago Bears Farm Team that played in the old Rubber Bowl. She was employed in the U.S. Civil Service Commission during WWII when her husband was a Sergeant in Company A, 326th Airborne Glider Infantry in Europe. Dorsalene and her husband built Bath Golf Course in the late 1950's turning a gravel pit into an 18-hole golf course. After selling it, they retired, but only for a short time before they purchased Pine Valley Golf Course in 1978. Their hard work made them favorites of all the area golfers. Dorsalene is survived by her sister, Barbara Plumb of Canal Fulton, and her children Gary Parsons and Jan Parsons Nilsen. She lived with and was surrounded by her loving daughter, Janis; son-in-law, Robert; grandson, Charles; daughter-in-law, Tera; and fur grandchild, Jessie. In the end. Dorsalene loved the Lord and was a member for 70 years at The Chapel, having assisted the founder, Rev. Carl Burnham, in the Church office. An interment will be in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Seville, where she will be buried with her loving husband.
