Earlene Mason Obituary

Mrs. Earlene Mason, 65, went HOME to be with the LORD on Monday, May 3, 2010 after a long illness.

She was born on January 26, 1945 in Milledge-ville, Georgia; she lived in this community for over 40 years. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who loved to watch weekly wrestling, fishing, and enjoyed her gospel music every Sunday morning.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Mason, Sr.; son, Willie C. Parks, Sr.; father, Winkfield Parks; mother, Mary Bell Butts Parks; sisters, Catherine Thomas and Mattie B. Moore; brothers, Henry Butts, Sr., Freddie Parks, and William Parks.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her son, James (Gloria) Mason, Jr.; daughter, Connie Mason; brothers, Johnnie (Mamie) Butts of Akron, Ohio, Edward (Louise) Butts of Milledgeville, Georgia; sister-in-law, Idella Butts of Akron, Ohio; six grandchildren, three stepgrandchildren, two great-grandchildren, eight stepgreat-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Services will be held Saturday, May 8, 2010 at 1 p.m. at Stewart & Calhoun Funeral Home, 529 W. Thornton St., Akron, OH 44307, Minister Stacey Jenkins officiating. Friends may visit at the funeral home from 12 noon until time of service. Procession will form and condolences may be sent to 1305 Ottawa Ave., Akron, OH 44305. Interment at Monday, May 10, 2010 at 10 a.m. at Glendale Cemetery.
