Mr. Eddie Frank Johnson, Jr. "Gangster"

Mr. Eddie Frank Johnson, Jr. "Gangster" was born April 13, 1951 in Detroit, Mich., to the late Maebell Johnson and Eddie Frank Johnson, Sr. He passed away September 20, 2014.

Eddie was a firm believer in God and studied with Jehovah's Witnesses the majority of his life.

He worked at Chrysler and retired in 2006 with almost 40 years of service. He was active in delivering mobile meals. He enjoyed participating in Karate and held a black in Gedatsu-Kai GoJu-Ryu. He sponsored many individuals in A.A. and C.A. and holds many achievements and accolades in that field. He had over 25 years of sobriety and was taking college courses to become a drug counselor, and helped a copious amount of people in the city of Akron.

He was preceded in death by parents, Maebell Johnson and Eddie Frank Johnson Sr; daughter, Lashonda Johnson; sisters, JoAnn Drake and Wanda Ruth; and brother, Christopher Johnson.

He is survived by wife, Tracey Johnson; children, Lawrence Ray Byers III, Eddie Frank Johnson III, Scottie Bradford, DaJuan Owens, Myron Rodgers, Camron Johnson, Duncas Carter, Christopher Owens-Johnson, Beverly Johnson, Edward Johnson, and Destiny Johnson; grandchildren, Amir Young, DaJuan Owens, Jr, Janice Owens, and Harmoneé Johnson; sisters, Violet Moon, Brenda (Marvin) Johnson-Young, and Marsenna (Alfred) Barnes; the mothers of his children, Brenda Johnson-Scott, and Sharon Rodgers; many nieces, nephews, and a host of family and friends.

Service will be held Saturday, September 27, 2014 at 1 p.m. at Stewart & Calhoun Funeral Home, 529 W. Thornton St., Akron, OH 44307, Rev. Marc Neal officiating.
