Edwin (Ed) Dotson

Edwin (Ed) Dotson, 74, passed away March 5, 2018.

Ed graduated in 1962 from Ellet H.S. He retired from CSX. Ed enjoyed golfing and was good at it. He learned about golf when he was young. He started as a caddie at Portage Country Club at age 11. He taught his sons how to play golf. Ed had 9 holes in one. He won club championships, tournaments and a golf trip in a hole in one contest. He stopped golfing after his youngest son, Matthew was seriously injured in a motorcycle accident in June of 2009. He then went everyday to visit Matt and take care of him at the nursing home.

Ed enjoyed and followed many sports and played basketball and track in high school. He also enjoyed watching all of his sons participate in various sports.

Preceded in death by parents, Herschel and Mary Dotson, and H. Margaret and James Justice; sister, Sybil; half brother, Tom; aunt, Connie Sparks; mother-in-law, Mildred Marsey; sister-in-law, Karen Comer and many beloved pets.

Survived by his wife of 54 1/2 years, Paula; sons, Eddie (Michele), Greg, Jason, and Matthew; grandchildren, Nicholas "Nick", Aleksander "Alek", the quadruplets, Emily, Jacob, Grace and Samantha "Sammy", Kylie, Brandon, Madison, Taryn, Alexandra "Alex", and his fur babies, Sophie and Zoey.
