Eve Bennett Obituary
(Schwartz)
Eve R. Bennett (Schwartz), 96, died Thursday, Nov. 13, 2003.
She was born in Montreal, Canada and was a longtime resident of Medina, Ohio and recently of Akron, Ohio and also of Boca Raton, Fla. She owned and operated the Better Dress Shop & Fashion Wearhouse with stores throughout Northeast Ohio. She was a member of Temple Israel and Hadassah and volunteered at hospitals both in Ohio and Florida.
Mrs. Bennett was preceded in death by husbands, A. Lewis Schwartz and Irving "Babe" Bennett, parents, Cantor Harry and Rachel Rickel, brothers, Rabbi Elihu Rickel and Jack Rickel, and is survived by chil dren, Shirley (Lee) Kahn, Kay Schwartz; stepchildren, Rabbi Allan Bennett, Judy Sklar; sisters, Fran Wolpaw, Mildred Ca plowe, Lila Fierer; three grand children, two stepgrandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and two stepgreat-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held Sunday, Nov. 16, 2003, 11 a.m., at the Gordon Memorial Home, 1260 Collier Rd., Akron, with Rabbi David Lipper and Rabbi Allan Bennett officiating. Interment at Rose Hill Ceme tery. The family will be at the residence on Sunday only. In lieu of other remembrances, the family requests donations to Hospice Care Center, 3358 Ridgewood Rd., Akron, Ohio 44333 or Temple Israel.
