Evelyn Mackey Obituary
NORTON Evelyn M. Mackey (nee Himmelright), 93, died Satur day, June 14, 2003 at Hospice Care Center.
Mrs. Mackey was born in Western Star and was a lifelong resident of Norton. She was a 1928 gradu ate of Wadsworth High School and attended Hammel Business College. She was an executive secretary at Sun Products Corp. retiring in 1973 with 45 years of service. Mrs. Mackey was a life member of Grace Lutheran Church, where she was active in various activities and a member of Martha Circle. She was also a member of Chapter 102 OES, Friends Bridge Club, The 55 Plus Group, Norton Senior Citizens, AARP, and Norton Grange.
Mrs. Mackey is survived by sisters, Irene Frost of Solon and Lu cille Meredith of Copley; five nieces and nephews; 11 great-nieces and nephews; and six great-great-niec es and nephews. She was preceded in death by husband, Albert; brothers, Donald and Carl Himmelright.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, 4 to 7 p.m. at the Hilliard & Mullaney Funeral Home, 174 N. Lyman St., Wadsworth, where a Star service will be held at 6:45 p.m. Funeral service Wednesday, 11 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church, 146 High St., Wadsworth. The Rev. Daniel J. Cammarn and Rev. Ann Paynter officiating. Interment Greenlawn Memorial Park. Contri butions may be made to Copley EMS, 1540 S. Cleveland-Massillon Rd., Copley 44321. (Hilliard & Mullaney, 330-334-1501.)

My sympathy to all of Evelyn's family. I met her and Al in 1971 during a vacation in Europe. I was only 19 at the time, and they always teased me that they were my "new parents" and were looking after me during the trip. I also spent many Thanksgiving Day dinners with them at Sardi's in New York City. I was lucky to have known Evelyn and will miss her. She was a wonderful lady. Our thoughts and prayers are with all the family.
