Flynn Hamilton, 92, departed this world Monday April 29, 2019.
Calling hours are Thursday, May 9, 4 to 6 p.m. at Stewart & Calhoun Funeral Home., His homegoing service is Friday, May 10, 2019, 10:30 a.m., St. John's CME Church, 1233 S Hawkins Ave. Family will receive friends at 9:30 a.m. Internment at Western Reserve National Cemetery. Donations can be made in his honor to Phillips Chapel, 413 Iroquois Ave., Akron, OH 44305.

To Mrs. Hamilton and family,
I just learned of Mr. Hamilton's passing. I remember so well the times our families spent together here in Akron and Struthers. I wished I had known of his passing so I could have attended the funeral. Please accept our deepest sympathy for your loss and know our prayers are with your family. My sister, Yvette McMillan, extends her sympathy as well. We love you.

Desmond, I know how much this man meant to you. I saw the impact he had on your life, and subsequently mine. He was a man that raised you to be the father, husband and friend you are today.
