Geraldine Hensley Obituary
She was born June 11, 1935 in Akron and lived in the area her entire life. She had a sincere faith and trust in God. She was a long-time member of The Chapel, and an active member of the Prime Time Class.
Her family was her whole world. She was a loving and nurturing wife, mother, and grandmother. She was thoughtful, sincere, devoted, patient, trusting, generous, clever, witty, wise, and had a heart of gold.
She enjoyed traveling with her husband. She was a talented seamstress, cook, hairdresser, and shopper!
Jeri was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Grace Williams; brothers, Wallace and David; and baby granddaughter, Colette. For now she leaves her best friend and husband of 53-½ years, Stan Hensley; children, Paula and Jim Willoughby, Greg and Lori Hensley, Jacqueline and Jay Hunter, and Jennifer and Bill Robison; grandchildren, Matthew, Megan (Matt), Mollie (Zack), Casey, Paul, Aaron, Brit, Jon-Michael, and Brady; great-grandchild, Aubrey; sister, Alice Williams; sisters-in-law, Gay Hensley and Maria Williams Grenfell. She also leaves many special nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and glamour buddies at The Hair Company.
The family is grateful for the compassionate care she received at the Ridgewood Road Hospice Care Center.
Friends may call at the Bacher Funeral Home, 3326 Manchester Rd., on Sunday, January 2, 2011 from 1 to 5 p.m. Service will be held Monday, January 3rd at The Chapel (The Memorial Chapel), 135 Fir Hill at 8:30 a.m., Pastor Lynn Warner officiating. Interment at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. Donations may be made to The Chapel, 135 Fir Hill, Akron, OH 44304 or The Hospice Care Center, 3358 Ridgewood Rd., Akron, OH 44333, in memory of Jeri. Dear Stan, Even though many, many miles have separated us, we feel blest to have known you and Jeri. We sure shared a lot of great times - from Fort Meade, to your visit to our campground, to our visit to your home to meet your wonderful family, and your trip to see us in Florida. Your Wife, Mother and Grandmother was a very special person who was always walking around Hair Company showing us pictures of her family.She was loved by all and I will dearly miss her.So sorry for your loss.God gained a wonerful Angel...

Alice, so sorry to hear about your sister. Saw her at the 50th Class Reunion and thats been awhile. I asked about you. I only knew Paula but not her other children. Sad as we were all so close many years ago. All thats left are memories. My thoughts and prayers are with you. 12 yrs ago I lost my sis Alice Take care dear friend of 62 years.
