Gloria Hart Obituary
Affectionately known as Jeannie, she was born May 6, 1949 in Meridian, Miss., and lived her early years in Meridian and Arizona until relocating to Akron in 1962. She attended the Akron Public Schools and lived on the eastside for most of her entire stay in Akron. She retired from Chrysler Stamping Plant after 30 years of service. Jeannie was a member of Zion Temple Baptist Church and served with the culinary arts, hospitality, and women's ministries.
Jeannie was devoted to her children and grandchildren; and loved life, family, and friends. She was funny, kind, generous, outgoing, sassy, loving, a pot stirrer, full of joy and advice.
Her husband, Samuel J. Hart; parents, Esaw J. and Mary J. Hinton; and brother, James (Pop) preceded her in death. Jeannie is survived by her children, Monique (Wendell) Scott of Decatur, Ga. and Tamika Hart; grandchildren, Myles, Peyton, Evin, and Isaiah Scott; brothers and sisters, Charles (Lenora) Franklin of Detroit; Marion (Royal) Arnold; Belinda J. Hinton; and Raymond Hinton; special niece, Danielle Nicole Arnold; and longtime special friend, Cheryl Averiette.
The family will receive friends on Friday, April 22, 2016 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Rhoden Memorial Home, 1101 Palmetto Avenue, Akron. Homegoing service will be held Saturday, April 23, 2016 at 11:30 a.m. at Zion Temple Baptist Church, 515 Ardella Ave., Akron 44306, where friends may also call from 10:30 a.m. until time of service, Dr. Mark Tony Ward officiating. Condolences may be sent to 1093 Seventh Avenue, Akron, OH 44306 and 2913 Cocklebur Trail, Decatur, GA 30034.

Aunt Jeannie has transcended into the ranks of the righteous now in the presence of the Lord and among the Saints. I have so many priceless memories of her spending countless hours, days, and years at her home in East Akron. Aunt Jeannie had a smile that would light up the room and a sense of humor beyond compare. My Jets Family. We all grew up together, right across the street from each other. I feel like I lost another member of my family. No words will take away the pain you are all feeling right now.
