Harold Mackey Obituary
CUYAHOGA FALLS -- Harold L. Mackey Sr. "Hal", 88, died October 3, 2018, peacefully at home. Hal was born in Akron and lived all his adult life in Cuyahoga Falls, growing up on North Hill, and following this service in the Navy.
A chance meeting for a bowling lesson, from his future mother-in-law, led to the marriage of Harold L. and Jane G. Stanford. He began work at Firestone where he retired after 34 years of service as an Instrument Maintenance Journeyman. After retirement, he pursued his life's passion for "GOLF".
He was preceded in death by Jane in 2000. He is survived by his children, H. Lee Jr., Michael (Michelle), James (Darlene), Robert (Denise-deceased), Richard (Kim), and Dorothy; grandchildren, Justin, Nick, Karla, Brandon, Paige, Alexis and seven great-grandchildren; siblings, Mary and Larry; sisters-in-law, Sally and Regina; and lifetime close friend, Ms. Lois Wolff. Lest we forget all his golf friends alive and deceased.
Friends may call Monday, October 8 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 1930 Front St., Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221, where a Funeral Service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, October 9. Dear Lee, Michael, Jimmy, Bobby Richard, Dorothy, and family,
We are thinking of you during this difficult time. Your dad was a great guy! We will never forget the vacation at Cape Hatteras with your family. My parents (Sam & Norma Palermo) and your parents had some of the best times together! Sending a hug to each of you. I am sure my parents & your mom greeted your dad at the Pearly Gates and are catching up with each other!
