I was privileged to work with Harry in the late 1980s in New Zealand. During that time he took a keen interest in a book I was writing on New Zealand history and helped me by allowing me access to the company word processing facilities which was something very modern in New Zealand at that time. I acknowledged Harry's assistance in the books opening pages. The book is up for reprint and I thought I would see how Harry was all these years later. To find that he has passed away in 2003 was a sad discovery for me. Na reira e te rangatira Hare; haere ra e hoa, haere haere in te rangimarie ki te kainga tuturu mo te tangata, mo nga tipuna. (In the Maori language: To the chief, Harry, farewell friend, farewell, farewell - go in peace to the true home of the people and our ancestors.)

Dear Denise, Julie and Kaye,
My sister emailed me the notice from the Post Gazette. I am so surprised and sorry to learn of your loss. My thoughts and prayers will be with you during this difficult time!
I know how great the pain is now, but I found that remembering the fun things and good family times has kept Russell in my heart. I believe that will help you all to keep Harry in your hearts also.
