It is so ironic that while visiting barstow for my '67 Class Reunion, I thought of her as I drove by her home on Rimrock, having no idea that she was still living there. I knew her a little as a kid and remember her from the 1st Congregational Church too. She was a fine person, as was her husband. She had a great smile and was warm-hearted. That's what most will remember - the warm heart.

What a great Lady and wonderful friend. We had such great times on the field trips taken with the Bendure's.

Helen embodied the spirit of learning and absorbing new ideas and cultures. As an AFS colleague I can truly say that her enthusiasm was contagious and her dedication to the program and its students has made our corner of the world a much better place!

Oh Mrs Bendure!!! This WOMAN was one of the most RESPECTED,DEDICATED,LOYAL, POSITIVE, CONFIDENT...I could go on and on WOMAN of Barstow. Along with my Mother, Mrs. Lucy Robins, Mrs. Newman and the other Mothers of the '50s aren't made anymore the mold was broken! These WOMEN were so active with the community, ie, parades, school programs, Brownies and Cub Scouts, etc, as well as another Mother to me. Barbara, JoAnn Irwin,Carol Brainerd, Bonnie Bandle, Judy Conley and so many others were playmates, Brownies and Girl Scouts growing up with them as our Leaders. We were really Blessed to have the parents (Mothers) we had..TRUE WOMEN, they helped mold us into ladies that became good Women. I thank God so much for having her, as well as the others in my life - I learned so much... Job well done, Helen Bendure, now rest in peace, I will always love you and will see all of you in the New World, GOD BLESS. Barbara, Glenda and Bert, so sorry for your loss, but trust in the Lord, HE ALWAYS fills the void. He will never leave nor forsake you, He will be with you until the very end. [email protected]

Mrs Bendure was my Brownie troop leader in the late 50's or early 60's. Her daughter Barbara and I were friends. To this day, I can still hear her voice and her laugh. She was a very special person who touched many lives.
