Dear Betty,
Was very sorry to hear of Horace's passing. My parents spoke of the two of you often and truly enjoyed your friendship. We've also never forgotten your many kindnesses when my Dad died in '96. Our prayers are with you in this time of mourning and transition.

Dearest Betty,
Words fall so short at such a time, but they'll have to try. Ben & I are so sorry to hear of "Uncle Horace's" passing.
Memories of cookouts along the Gulf Coast in the spring and French Quarter laughs with you & Horace are still fresh in our minds.
May your Faith give you comfort and God's love & mercy give you peace to see you through this time.
Know that Horace & my pop, Charlie Z. are finally getting their chance to catch-up on old times and compare notes. Because, after all, they didn't really die...they just changed neighborhoods.
With warm regards from the on-the-mend Big Easy,
Micheal & Ben Ziants

We were shocked to hear of Smiths passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time. Unfortunely we will not be able to be at the funeral, we'll be attending Uncle Eddies memorial in Uniontown. I always enjoyed Smiths company at the family reunions. He will be missed. May your memories bring you comfort in the days ahead.

To Betty and the entire Todd family,
I am sending my deepest condolences and strongest prayers to you and your family, on behalf of myself, Anthonee and Chrysayne, and the rest of my family.
Horace was the kindest person I believe that I have ever had the blessing and wonderful graces to have known. He always had nothing but love and good things to say about people and to people. Horace always treated me with respect, kindness and an amazing fatherly friendship. His beautiful and infectious smile, and the wonderful way that he treated everyone who had the great luck to cross his path and be a part of his life, great or small, will be deeply missed.
I don't know if a football game or a band program will ever be the same for me again, as I always made sure to look him up, get a great big hug and give him one back....and if I failed to find him, he always managed to find me.
My heart aches for you, as I know that you both were the epitome of an amazing couple....most obviously meant to be lifelong partners and loves.
Horace will always remain in mine and my childrens hearts as he left wonderful footprints in our lives.
May God Bless You and hold you in his loving arms as you go through this.
Please know that our heart, prayers and love are constant for you, and your family. He was an amazing, kind and gracious man, and again, I am thankful to have been blessed to know him.

Betty: My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family. Horace was a true gentleman in every sense of the word. He was the most friendly, easy going, and positive person that I believe I have ever known. His hugs, waves and especially his smile will be greatly missed but very fondly remembered.
