Jack Chaplin Obituary
He was born on October 17, 1938, in Morgantown, W. Virginia, to the late Arthur Barton and Thelma Agnes (Bennett) Chaplin. He was a graduate of Hower Vocational High School in Akron, Ohio, and president of his graduating class. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and was retired from Johnston & Murphy. He will always be remembered as a sharp dresser with an easygoing, approachable nature, and for his charm and quick wit. He enjoyed playing golf, watching football, sharing a laugh, and being in the company of family and good friends.
He is survived by his first wife, Joyce Post of Akron, Ohio; only son, Christopher, of Los Angeles, California; second wife, Joy Huntington of Houston, Texas; siblings, Jean (Jim) Reeder of Ravenna, Susan (Paul) Zurschmit of Akron, Linda (Pete) Lopenzina of Nashville, Tennessee, Nancy (Tim) Jones of Sherrills Ford, N. Carolina; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends from far and wide.
He was preceded in death by brother, Jim Chaplin; sister and brother-in-law, Patti and Jake Cunningham; his sister, Shirley Olis; and his third wife, Jacqueline.
Cremation has taken place and inurnment will be at Northlawn Memorial Gardens on Memorial Day weekend, 2011. Memorial contributions may be made to the Gordon Hospice House of Statesville, N. Carolina, and The American Cancer Society.

My Uncle Jack was a brother to my father, James "Jim" Chaplin. They were the only two boys out of a family of eight. He was five years younger, but they were close.
I remember so many things about him, too many to mention, but I always thought how handsome he was. He was funny and I loved going to all our family gatherings as a child.
Lost touch when my mom and dad divorced and he moved to Texas. But I have never forgotten all the good times and I do miss him terribly.

Uncle Jack you are missed. My last visit with you was with the foster kids and my adopted son at my parents house in NC. We had a great time :) Please give my father a hug up there and the rest of the family. Much love..
