Jack "the Barber" Noggle, 82, of St. Petersburg, Fla., passed away June 3, 2008. At his bedside were his wife Paula, his son Gary Noggle and Rusty, his daughter-in-law from Ohio.
He was born September 30, 1925 in Wadsworth, Ohio. The youngest of eight children, he is survived by his wife, Paula; his sister, "Cappie" Police; his three children, Craig, Gary, and Janelle; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was a World War II veteran serving on the submarine Seaowl in the South Pacific Theater. He was a barber of over 55 years who cut hair at his 4th Street North barbershop for over 30 years before he retired at age 80. He was known simply as "Jack the Barber." He was a family man devoted to his family. He loved to play golf. An avid sports fan, he was a walking encyclopedia on statistics. He was eager to cast his line into the water to catch the big ones. He volunteered his time and trade to the bedridden, giving patients personal in-hospital service hair care services free of charge.
Funeral service will be Tuesday, June 10, 2008 at 1 p.m. at Cox Funeral Home, 1376 High St., Wadsworth (one mile north of I-76 on OH-94) with Rev. Robert E. Linsz officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the funeral home. (COX, WADSWORTH 330-335-3311)

I am going to miss you, Grandpa. Even though 19 years of my life passed before meeting you, at the moment of our first hug I felt like I had known you forever. You took me in as your granddaughter without hesitation and I immediately became part of the family. I wish I had gotten to see you one last time to thank you for the love you have given me and the positive impact you have had on my life.
Paula, you are in my heart and prayers. I will see you soon!

Dad, I so wanted to see you one more time. I miss you so much already. You taught me so many things. Strength, gentleness, love, fishing, and of course football! I will cherish every moment I had on this earth with you, until you greet me with one of your wonderful hugs in Heaven. Paula, be comforted by the knowledge of how much my Dad loved you, as he was comforted by your love for him. I am so grateful that he found you to spend the rest of his days.
You'll be in my heart forever, Dad, rest in peace, until we meet again.

I will miss "uncle jack" so much, as will all of his family. He taught me how to walk when I was a baby and always called me "cookie" sharing his loving smile and warm hugs. I have many childhood memories in which you played such a large part. I know you knew how much I loved you all my life and I wish you knew how much I will miss you now. My heart and prayers are with you Paula. I know how happy uncle Jack was being married to you and how happy you made him. Thank you uncle Jack for being part of my life. I will love and miss you always, Connie Kronz (Slabaugh)/your niece

To Paula and all of Jack's family. I am so very glad that I had a chance at such a late time in our lives to get to know Jack briefly. I too will always remember that super smile and only wish that I had gotten to know him better. I pray that we will meet again.

Today we will say our goodbyes to a dear friend who was not only smart and hard-working, but gracious and humble. What a combination! Jack always had a smile for everyone, and we will miss hearing his soft chuckle while sharing cocktails together. We can take some comfort in knowing Heaven’s newest member is a gentle, soft-spoken and honest soul who is pain-free. If only more of us could be blessed with Jack’s sunny disposition; we should all aspire to be more like him. Simply put, Jack was an amazing, exceptional person and we will miss him dearly.
Our heartfelt sympathy and prayers are with all of you—Paula, Thurm, Gary, Rusty…and the many others who loved Jack.
