Our deepest sympathy go out to the Goins Family....Jim spent alot of time with the McPike Family. The late Jesse and Jim were "Texas Hot Shot" buddies for a number of years, and became good friends. Weather it was a family birthday party or a Holiday dinner he was there. He always called Jesse for that shortest route to take for a run!! Or just to say Hey or tell each other a few good jokes! We always looked forward to seeing Jim over at the house. He even bought his motorcycle from a family member. We are sad to have learned of his passing today. We, along with many many others, will truely miss him. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Jim's mother, children, grandchildren and the rest of his family and friends. What a great guy he was! May you rest in peace Jim and say hello to "Mr." Hot Shot!!

My thoughts & prays go out to the Goins family. Jim & I shared so many great times during our years in High School and after, until my move out of state! The past two years we had reconnected and talked several times by phone. He had planned on stopping in for a visit when trucking to Southern Cal but his travels never seemed to take him close enough. I will always remember his Big Heart and our fun times. His white 61 Chevy & passion for cars will always be in my mind. A big thank you goes out to his neighbor / friend who took the time to call me at Jim's request shortly after his passing! Jim, I love ya like a Brother, you will be deeply missed but Never forgotten...

Dear Mrs. Goins, Nancy, Linda & Bobby,
I am so sorry for your loss. My sister, Colleen, had just told me that Jim was inquiring about the Central reunion -- so this was a shock. Your family meant so much to me in the Spicer and Central-Hower years. Your faces are all imprinted in my mind with fond memories. I pray that God's embrace will carry you through this valley.

Marie, Nancy & Family,

We are very sorry to hear of Jim's passing. I wished we had known sooner. We would loved to have come to the service to give you hugs. I know this is a very difficult time for you and I sympathize with you more than you know. It is hard to lose a brother and son. But the thing that helps the most is to remember just how MUCH fun you had with him and just how special he was to you. From all of his friends notes about Jim, he sounds like he was a very kind, loving and fun person to know. We remember seeing him at your house a few times and I remember just how great he was with their children and how they adored him.
You are in our thoughts and prayers.
Love, Janet, John & Jordan (Nicole) Dickinson

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Jim. So many years have passed but the memories will forever stay. I remember the sleep-overs at Chris Ackers house and the guys coming over and scaring us at all times of the night. Jim was a good friend growing up. We spent allot of time on my front porch just talking along with his cousin Ronnie. I also spent so much time at their home on Vine Street. I will never forget his wonderful smile. I have not seen Jim for many years now, but there will also be a special place in my heart for him. God Bless all of you. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

I want to thank James Crowder for being with Jim in his final moments & trying to save & comfort him. James is a stand up guy & really cared about Jim. There was no guy talk with the 2 of them. They talked about everything especially about family. James,Carmen, Phyliss, Bob, Linda & Marie made sure that Jim's beloved cats were taking care of as those were his final wishes. James also made sure that he called all of Jim's family & friends on behalf of Jim which was another final wish. Once again, thank you James for being a honest true friend. We need more people like him in this world. We will without a doubt miss Jim.

Marie, Linda, Bobby, Nancy, Dana & Nicole so sorry about the loss of your son & brother & father Jim.
It was a year ago this week I was out at derby downs doing inspections of the derby's the week before the race. As I was passing a group of three guys one called out my Name. I went over and looked at the guy guy for a second wondering who this guy was, when his smile hit me and I said JIM. I hadn't seen him for quite some time and beards & weight doesn't make for an instant identification. Bobby and his good friend James were with him and we had a great visit at Top Side where we all spent a lot of time as kids racing in the derby.
I talked to him several times the past year and sent him the reunion info and hoped to see him again this summer, but not to be.
Jim was always good with his hands and cars. I remember his first 61 Chevy that got wrecked. he went out and found another one and dropped the 409 from the first into the second one. With our derby experience with bondo & fiberglass we spent a lot of late nights in his garage fixing rust.
Jim put my kitchen in my house when he was doing home remodeling and did a great job, not too long before he went to Texas.
As for the derby he was one of the kids who built his cars all by himself with no other help and did great . He and Gary Markham were the best boy built cars in the neighborhood.
I have so many great memories of the gang from Vine St. Jim and I would have our summer city camp outs which were sleeping out at night in either his Dads station wagon or ours.
We all had driveways that were small hills and Roger Kenney Jim and I all learned how to use the clutch on a stick shift by going up and down the drive. (put a lot of gravel in the street)
Jim was my oldest friend , even though he was in Texas I still thought of him and the old times in the neighborhood often. I'll miss him a lot.

July 18, 2008

Though I haven't seen Jimmy since high school, I recall his friendly, fun, and easy going demeanor. The room was brighter with him in it. The old Spicer and Central folk will miss him a lot.
My best wishes for his family, and his long time friends.

TO jims family, I was shocked to hear about Jim. We ran around together in highschool, then my wife and I moved to Houston for 4 years and I ran around with him and his wife down there, he called me last year and I went out to see his car, he'll be sadly missed but not forgotten. Take comfort in knowing he was a good man and loved by many

We are all sorry for your loss, Jim was something special to all of us. There is nothing that could be put into words that would express our feeling, God knows what he is doing, Jim's is in a better place. We all wish he could have lived a more full life but we appreciate the wonderful times we had together. He had a way of making you feel good just to see him, his talent was second to none. I could talk about him on and on, but or roads will cross again my friend. From our very sad and shocked hearts we hope your pain will dull with time. He is gone but will never leave our hearts and minds. Thanks for the good times Jim, from one of your many saddened friends, see you on the other side.

Mrs.Goins, Nancy, Linda & Mike, and Bobby,
My sympathy and prayers are with you to try and help you through this unbearable time. We had alot of good times on Black St. and Mason Park. Jimmy loved his cars, and we shared in the joy of looking cool riding with him. We had fun times at Central High with Jimmy, Rick Acker, Chris Acker, Westly Singleton, and Ronnie Radoichin. Jimmy & I enjoyed watching our sisters cheer at the Hoban games and twirling for Central. He & I we're shy, but we felt like part of the "In-crowd".
I know nothing will seem to fill the void you feel today. Please know others care and send their love and sympathy.

Deepest Sympathy,
Kathy (McGuinness)

Dana and Nicole,
Words just don't seem to really espress how hard it is to loose a loved one. Even if we don't always show it, there is a special bond between daughters and their father. We forget how quickly our lives can change in an instant, and our chance to say "I love you" , is gone. Hold on to your fond memories, as I will of sharing alot of good times with you dad and mom at Central High. Please extend my symphathy to your mother.

Deepest Sympathy,
Kathy ( McGuinness)

Jimmy was like an extra brother to me. As far back as I can remember Linda and Jimmy were a part of my life growing up. Playing tag till dark, derby's being built. football in the street and just hanging around, they are great memories. Rick has stayed in touch with Jimmy over the years and I'm glad they did. Dear Family,
I'm the sister of your Dad's neighbor, Karen. I've only met your dad a few times, but when he was in Phoenix, he helped me look for a car and gave me very good advice! This is one tiny example of the way he shared his gifts and interest with strangers. I'm sure you could add many examples of the wonderful person he was. My sympathy goes out to you as I know how hard it is when a parent passes on. Be gentle with yourselves and remember only the good!
