James Montgomery Obituary
Preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Annabelle Montgomery; and brother-in-law, Dr. Dale Dodd; he is survived by his wife, Diane, with whom he would have celebrated 60 years of marriage on June 28th; sons, Todd (Donna), Troy (Ann), all of Stow; grandchildren, Amanda (Bryan) Reed, Joshua and Noah Montgomery, Megan (Nathan) Flaker, Mackenzie (Ben) Miller, and Brooks Montgomery; great-granddaughter, Avery Reed; sisters, Marie (Ralph) O'Neil of Munroe Falls, Marjorie (Walt) Nicholson of Silver Lake; brothers, Homer (Jean) Montgomery of Silver Lake, and William Montgomery of Farmville, Va.; and many other relatives and friends.
Friends are invited to Christ Community Chapel, 750 W. Streetsboro St., Hudson, for visitation TODAY from 4 to 8 p.m., where Rev. David Schroyer will conduct service Friday 10:30 a.m. Burial will be held at Stow Cemetery. Should friends desire, memorials may be made to Wounded Warrior Project, (woundedwarrior-project.org).

Dear Montgomery Family - I will always know Jim as "Coach" and I really have enjoyed knowing him and chatting with him during our ballgames on the many summer evenings over the years. I will truly miss his bright smile and kind words. One only has to look to his children and grandchildren to know that this is a man of character whose life has and will serve as an example to others. I would like to offer my condolences to the whole Montgomery Family. Jim will be missed, I really enjoyed seeing and talking with him over the years at the Hay Dad softball games. He was an enjoyable person to be around, positive attitude, encouraging, always made me feel good when I saw him in the dugout or in previous years at third base. On the rare occasion when Jim didn't show for one of our games someone would always say hay Troy where's your dad. He is someone to aspire to be like, stayed active and involved in his kids activities and their family lives. The game won't be the same without him.
