James Ward Obituary
James Myron Ward
James Myron Ward (aka Hard Times-Jimmy), 78, passed away in the loving arms of the Lord on November 7, 2013.
James was born in Washington, Pa. on April 6, 1935, served in the U.S. Marine Corps, and retired from the Ford Motor Company after 35 years of service.
He coached and umpired softball and football. In 1998 he was inducted into the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame for football.
Jimmy loved his family dearly. He also loved music, but jazz and blues was his favorite. He loved to joke and tell stories about his life.
He was preceded in death by parents, James Howard Ward and Ruth Mae Ward; sister, Louise Brown; and brother, Charles Ward. James leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife after 21 years of marriage, Mildred "Cookie" Ward; children, Kathleen Ward, Pamela Ward, James Ward, Jr. (Seca), Raina Ward, and Maurice Ward; nine step-children, 32 grandchildren, and 29 great-grandchildren; sisters, Hazel Brown, Viann Williams of Washington, Pa. and Elaine Williams of Akron, Ohio; special aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Service will be held Friday, November 15, 2013 at 12 Noon at the House of the Lord, 1650 Diagonal Rd., Akron, OH 44320, Pastor Dennis Butts officiating. Friends may visit at the church from 11 a.m. until time of service. Procession will form and condolences may be sent to 1664 Stimson St., Akron, OH 44320.

I know it's difficult to move on knowing Jimmy is gone... gone beyond our reach, leaving this crazy world behind. But thank GOD he left us memories that NO ONE can take away; memories that will make us smile and conquer the painful tears.
