Janice Newton Obituary
She had been a resident of Akron for more than 75 years. She was a member of the Northeast Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses and was baptized on July 28, 1940 in Detroit, Michigan.
Janice was preceded in death by her husband, William and her daughter, Marsha.
She is survived by her sister, Ella McMillan; daughters, Marilyn (Edward) Hairston, Francine (Mike) Osby, Jacquelynn Sanders, Sandra (Donald) Barkley, Kimberly Dearmon, Corliss Grandison, and Krystal Newton; ten grandchildren; seven great-grand-children; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services will be held on Monday, December 21, 2009 at 1 p.m. at Stewart & Calhoun Funeral Home, 529 W. Thornton St., Akron, OH 44307, Darrell Williams officiating. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, December 20, 2009 from 7 until 9 p.m. and on Monday from 12 p.m. until time of service. Interment at Greenlawn Cemetery. Procession will form and condolences may be sent to 1189 Herman Ave., Akron, OH 44307.
