CUYAHOGA FALLS Jared (Jerry) William Clemens "Pops," 74, passed away Jan. 8, 2005, at home, surrounded by loved ones.

Jerry was born April 16, 1930, in Cuyahoga Falls. A lifelong resident of the Falls, he graduated in 1948 from Cuyahoga Falls High. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War, and was a member of the Cuyahoga Falls Baptist Church. He retired in 1992 from Carpenters Local 639. Jerry was an avid golfer and in his later years he loved organizing the golf for all the guys.

Preceded in death by Uncle Harland and Auntie Florence Clemens, who raised him from a child; two brothers, Wayne and Wylie; and two sisters, Ver na and Betty, Jerry is survived by the love of his life, Pat, to whom he was married for 54 years; daughters, Brenda (George) Rilling of Cuyahoga Falls, Karen (Kevin) Pike of Alabama; sons, Blake (Shawn) of Cuyahoga Falls, Craig (Becky) of Tallmadge, and Dave (Denise) of Maine; nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and a host of family and friends. He loved his family and friends and touched so many lives. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. A very special thank-you to Summa Hospice for their kindness and caring.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held Saturday, Jan. 15, at 11:30 a.m., at Cuyahoga Falls Baptist Church, 1601 Munroe Falls Ave., Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio 44221, Dr. Malcolm Hall officiating. The family requests that memorials be sent to the family in care of Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 1930 Front St., Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio 44221, in his memory.
