At a young age, Jack was baptized in the Episcopalian church. He had been a member of St. Phillips Episcopal Church in Akron, Ohio. In recent years, he was an active listener and follower of Bishop T.D Jakes.

To Jeff, Greg and entire Ashby family

So sorry to hear of the passing of such a very dear person to me. I've known Jack for over 40 years and enjoyed talking with him and listening to all the stories he would tell me over the years. He was so blessed to live 99 years and had a sharp mine and could remember so many things. THIS IS A CELEBRATION OF LIFE. I had the opportunity to talk to Jack about the Lord and he assured me that TD Jakes was his Bishop and that he was saved. I was so glad to hear that. Because that was what I wanted to talk to him about and he answered my question before I could ask. The last time I talked to Jack he told me he was ready to go. He's now in the arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus the Christ. No more pain no more suffering just rejoicing and praising our savior all the day long.
I pray you find comfort in your memories of him and knowing he's where we all want to be some day.

LOTS OF LOVE TO YOU ALL!
