John Castner Obituary
John M. Castner, 62 years, of Akron went home to be with the Lord, February 20, 2014. A life resident of the area, he was Meat Manager for Acme for many years.
Preceded in death by his parents, Aelred and Elizabeth Stadvec Castner; brothers, Corky and Pat; he is survived by daughters, Stephanie (Michael) Hazinski and Dr. Rebecca Castner, both of Chicago; sisters, Theresa (J T) Thomas, Kathy (Mike) Bilich; and brother, Paul (Barb) Castner, all of Akron.
Friends may call 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday and Monday 9:15 to 10:15 a.m., at the Schlup-Pucak Funeral Chapel, 788 Kenmore Boulevard. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m., Monday, February 24, 2014, at St. Sebastian Catholic Church with Fr. Edwin Leonard officiating.

I just found out that John has passed. I am so sorry that I didn't know about it at the time. I just want to tell his family that I went to High School with John and he was always so kind and caring. I have many good memories of him. The last time I saw him was at a "mini reunion" and he was just the same. I am sure that John is with the angels in Heaven. Please accept my late condolences. RIP John.

I worked with John at Acme in Montrose. He was a good friend. A good supervisor. I will certainly miss him. I had no idea he was so sick. I wish I could of had the chance to say goodbye. And thank him for his kindness and direction. Goodbye friend.

My sincere sympathy to the entire family. I am very saddened to hear of your loss. John was a very special person in my high school life and he was ever the respectful, sincere, caring, thoughtful person. Although I haven't seen him in over 25 years, his memory holds true and fans the flame of this candle to his memory and honors his family.

I ministered to John Castner in these last days, he was a, loving, God fearing and open person. May he rest in peace in God's Kingdom. Iam deeply saddened by his death and I know the family is too. May God's hand and strengthening be with us especially the family.
