John Ostovich

Johnny Michael "JO" Ostovich, devoted and loving father, brother and uncle who brought smiles to everyone he met, passed away at the home of his daughter, Nicole on June 11, 2014.

Johnny was born in Barberton on Oct. 15, 1952, the son of the late John and Sue (Gasho) Ostovich. As a young boy he grew to love the outdoors, hunting, trapping, fishing and taking walks in the woods with his dog Topsy and his friend Tom. He graduated from Norwayne High School in 1971 where he especially loved playing football for the Bobcats. As John grew older, he loved building, repairing and riding his many Harley Davidson motorcycles and he loved cooking. John was a very hard worker who rarely missed a production day. He had worked at Parker Hannifin and later at Seville Bronze. He was a member of the N.R.A. and was a member of the Steel Workers Union where he had served as Secretary and as a Union Representative.

He was also a member and vice president of the "Freeride MC."

He will be greatly missed by the light of his life, his daughter, Nicole Ostovich of Barberton; his two adoring sisters, Diane (Jim) Kondik of Creston and Deann (Martin) Adams of Wooster; his loving nieces and nephew, Christine (Ron) Ginnetti, Brenda (Kevin) Boville, Denice Kondik and Father Curtis Kondik a Military Priest Chaplain serving in Afghanistan; great-nieces and great nephews, Michael, Christopher, Nicholas and Maria Ginnetti and Catalina and Benjamin Boville; two aunts, Kate Ligas and Lucille Gasho; and many cousins and a host of friends.

Funeral mass will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at St. Anne Catholic Church in Rittman. Friends may call Monday, from 5 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston. Burial will be in St. Anne Cemetery. Tributes may be shared at www.Murray-Funeral-Home.com
