John Randolph Obituary

John Leonard Randolph

John Leonard Randolph, 88, passed away peacefully May 2, 2015, following a period of declining health.

Born in Evanston, Ill., he served honorably in the Army Air Corps (forerunner of the Air Force) in World War II, afterwhich he received a B.A. in Business Management from Trinity University. He founded the Randolph Classic Bowling Ball Company, which he moved to Akron, Ohio in 1962. He was the first manufacturer of a solid polyester bowling ball and held four patents. Following his retirement, he photographed Ohio's Amish community, having studied years earlier under Ansel Adams.

Preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Anabel Randolph and brothers, Fred and Thomas Randolph, he is survived by his son, John (Sue) Randolph; daughter, Barbara (Randall) Markel; and grandchildren, Rachel Randolph, Taylor Hansen, Kyle Hansen, and Jonathan Markel.

Funeral arrangements will be announced at a later date. (ADAMS MASON FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 330-535-9186)
