BARBERTON - John W. Spur lock, 79, died Thursday, April 15, 2004.

A World War II U.S. Navy veteran, he re tired from Babcock & Wilcox with 38 years service and was an avid racing fan.

Preceded in death by parents, John Spurlock and Otta Mae Pettus; sister, Doris Rob erts; broth ers, Robert Spurlock and Byron Pettus; surviving are his wife of 59 years, Louise; sons, John W. III (Lori), David (Dorothy), Bob (Dee); daughter, Kathy (Phil) Roppolo; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sisters, Joyce (Jim) Blair, Sue (Archie) Campbell; brothers, Jerry (Shirlene) Spurlock, Doug Spurlock; brother-in-law, Cecil (Jan) Hollifield; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Cremation has taken place. Donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.

Dear Louise, John, David, Bob & Kathy, and all of the grands and great-grands. I was so sorry to see that John has left us all. Be happy that he is in a better place and is no longer suffering. I know you will miss him dearly. Prayers are with you all. Love.

It's been so long since we've seen each other, but I still remember when you guys came over to mom and dad's house...I remember going to the refrigerator and getting ice to put in John's coffee. If you don't remember me I am Rusty Jackson, Harry and Jean's son.
