Joseph Somerick Obituary
BARBERTON Joseph A. Somerick, 93, died July 8, 2003 at Barberton Citizen's Hospital.
He was born Nov. 25, 1909 in Franklin, N.J. to Andrew and Theresa (Matejtik) So morcik. He married Mary Zakraysek on Aug. 12, 1933. She preceded him in death. He was a resident of Barberton most of his life and member of Prince of Peace Parish. He retired from Sei berling Tire & Rubber with 44 years of service. He was a member of the American Slovenian Catholic Union Lodge 110.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by brothers, An drew, John and Pete; sisters, Agnes Barborak and Theresa Sukie; granddaughter, Jennifer Marie Petit. He is survived by son, Richard (June) Somerick of New Martinsville, W. Va.; daughters, Delores (Bill) Kenna of Barberton and Pat (Ron) Gable of Barberton; 16 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchil dren; brother, Tony (Margaret) So merick of Barberton; half-brothers, Joe Somarcik, John (Gert) Somar cik; and half-sister, Mary (Richard) Kelly, all of Pittsburgh, Pa.
Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, 10:30 a.m. at Prince of Peace Parish, Fr. Rick Arko celebrant. Burial at Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends may call Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Zak-Monbarren Funeral Home in Doylestown. Memorials may be made to a charity of your choice.

My Grandfather was the best man in the world. He was a very kind and humble man. I love him and miss him very much. It will be a great void in our life. You are finally home with Grandma.

I remember meeting Uncle Joe when I was very young and remember how nice he was to me. While sad at his passing, how wonderful to have lived to such an advanced age! My deepest sympathy to those who will miss him the most.
