Kathryn O'Neil Obituary

Kathryn O'Neil (Uhalley)

Kathryn Elizabeth (Uhalley) O'Neil, 59, passed away after her long, courageous battle with leukemia on Wednesday, November 15, 2017. We will never forget you, and how hard you fought to stay vwith us.

Kathy was a graduate of Garfield High School. She worked at General Tire, where she met her husband of 33 years, Kell O'Neil. She loved being a room mother at St. Vincent de Paul Parish School while her sons were there. She was also a member of St. Vincent Church's Altar Society and a Eucharistic Minister, faithfully attending Church on Saturdays. She liked animals and taking walks in the park with her husband, where she had the supernatural ability to spot animals (especially deer) before he did, earning her the nickname, "Deer Spotter". She thought of others more than herself, always sending thank you or get well cards with personal notes. She was there when you needed her, by listening and making you feel special with her beautiful smile. She was a true angel with a generous heart, even while battling leukemia.

She is survived by her husband, Kell O'Neil; her sons, Brian and Michael O'Neil; her cat, Buddy; her mother, Ruth Uhalley; her sisters, Diane and Lori Uhalley; her brother, John Uhalley; her niece, Aly and nephew, Jake; and many cousins, aunts, uncles, and special friends. She was preceded in death by her father, John Uhalley.

Special thanks to Dr. Rehmus and Kim Heim for not giving up on her. She was so grateful to you and all of the wonderful people in the 5400 wing of Akron General, the Lab Center, and McDowell Cancer Center.

The family will receive friends Sunday, 2 to 5 p.m. at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St., Akron OH 44301. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, 10 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 164 West Market St., Akron OH 44303. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. (Anthony, AKRON)

To a dearest childhood neighbor Ruth, Diane, Johnny, Lori and Kathy's husband and son's. Very sorry for your loss! I had heard that Kathy was struggling with her health some time ago and hadn't heard anything recently. Sad to hear this. Brought back so many good memories growing up on Triplett with you all and so many other neighbor kids. Kathy struggles no more. No more pain!! I remember how pretty she was, beautiful smile and kind heart. If only I could of, should of made the effort to let her know. She is in a beautiful place now and surely be missed by many! Love and prayers to all of you. May the Lord give you strength & comfort each day and wrap his loving arms around you and give you all strength you will need in the coming days.

Big Brother Kell, B.O'Neil, M. O'Neil, Ruth, Dianne, Lori, Johnny ,Alex, Jake, all of Miss Kathryn's Aunts & Uncles,
Miss Kathryn- as I've always said- is the closest person to an Angel on Earth! She'd giggle and deny this. Though I am certain after knowing her for the short 34 years, I was blessed to have her in my Life!
I'm missing her already as I know we all are.
My message here is: I am so grateful for the U'Halley family for sharing her with my brother which in turn we were lucky enough to have been a part of an Angel's life, first hand.
I feel Blessed to have had such a wonderful & genuine soul in my life. She enriched our lives in ways we never thought possible.
I thank God for her gentle spirit and caring so deeply for her families.
A true friend and kind spirit. She will live on through her family and again I feel so blessed to have had such a fabulous friend to spend some wonderful times with.
I will never forget her and I will genuinely miss her. Until we meet again. She is with her dad now. This brings me comfort. RIP. Miss Kathryn. I love you. As you know, everyone does. T.T.F.N. B.C.
