Ken and I first met in 1972 as freshmen in the Electrical Engineering class at Akron U. Ken was known for his photography skills and ended up taking our class picture and also individual senior pictures for many of us. Ken was also known for the soft-sided briefcase that he used to carry all of his books, his long topcoat that he wore in the winter and being one of the first in our class to buy a HP 35 scientific calculator. He was also known for his religious beliefs. Even as a young man his salt and light were very visible.
Our paths didn't cross again until about 2003 when 5 of us formed a small software company known as EdgeView Software. One of the last products we developed was one that Ken conceived of and developed almost single-handedly. SmartLight was a program that turned a PC into a low-cost theater lighting console. Many of you know of Ken's love of theatre and stagecraft and this product was an outgrowth of that passion.
The other 3 members of EdgeView left for employment elsewhere which left Ken and me as the sole members. After a lot of prayer, we decided to follow one of my dreams and form a non-profit company that provided low cost computers and technology education to the economically disadvantaged. Northeast Ohio Computer Exchange, later renamed as ComputersAgain, was successful from the standpoint of fulfilling our mission but not terribly successful financially.
Working together as a 2-person company, Ken and I got to know each other pretty well. We shared some great times and some great challenges. My admiration and respect for Ken grew steadily during our time together and I came to appreciate his versatility and talent as an engineer, and his convictions and faith as a follower of Jesus. For me, my time at ComputersAgain was the highlight of my career and would not have been possible without Ken Slezak.
On this earth, all things come to an end and after a time, God led Ken and me in different directions. We haven't been in contact for some years but his death has helped me realize how important he was in my life. So long Ken. I'll see you again.

Condolences to the family. I don't know if Betty will remember me, but I think I was your pastor at Pleasant Valley Methodist Church 1966-68. God be with you. I am retired and live in Green.
