Laura Markel Obituary
Laura Markel, 79, of Manchester, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at her home, surrounded by her family.
Laura was a lifetime resident of the Manchester area, a member of the Manchester Christian Church and enjoyed bowling and polka dancing. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and was a friend to all. The family would like to thank Summa Hospice, Barberton Hospital and Oncology Department and St. Luke Home of Portage Lakes for their kind and loving care.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Floyd Markel; daughters, Vickie Markel and Judy (Mark) Crosier; grandchildren, Paul (Tiffany), Keith (Michelle), Jeff (Sarah), David, and Amanda (Brandon); great-grandchildren, Alex and Paul.
Funeral service will be held FRIDAY, 11 a.m. at the Swigart-Easterling Funeral Home, 624 E. Cherry Street (Rte. 93), Canal Fulton, with Rob Kasler officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home on THURSDAY, 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and FRIDAY one hour prior to service. Memorials may be made in Laura's name to the Humane Society of Akron, 4904 Quick Road, Peninsula, OH 44264. (Swigart-Easterling, 330-854-2356)

I am so sorry to hear of Laura's passing. She was a wonderful person, and I always looked forward to seeing her at Polka. I was the bartender at the FOP where she would come on Tuesdays. Even though she had not been here as much as she used to, it was always a pleasure to see her.
