My prayers and condolences are with you. I know this is a difficult time. He and my Mom are probably being silly together, rejoicing in seeing each other again. And someday we will also be reunited with them. In those thoughts I find great peace.
Perhaps this little poem will also help.
Don't think of him as gone away.
His journey has begun,
Life holds so many facets...
this earth is only one.
Just think of him as resting
from the sorrows and the tears
in a place of warmth and comfort
where there are no days or years.
Think how he must be wishing
that we could know today
How nothing but our sadness
can really pass away.
And think of him as living
in the hearts of those he touched.
For nothing loved is ever lost
and he was loved so much.
Poem by Ellen Brenneman
And, hopefully these Scriptures will bring you some comfort:
Matthew 5:4
Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.
Revelation 21:4
He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.
I will keep you in my prayers.
