Margit Geier Obituary
She was born in Vosberen, Hungary on July 13, 1927 to the late Joseph and Maria Libik. After surviving World War II and the Hungarian Revolution of 1956, she moved to Barberton and made it her home. Margit worked as a cook at Barberton Citizens Hospital for several years where she met her lifelong friend Valerie Belkey. Next, Margit decided to make her famous paprikash at Barberton Brookside Country Club for more than 20 years.
In addition to her parents, Margit was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Helen Geier Sutton. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Geza Geier, Sr.; sons, Geza Jr. (Becky), Frank, and Timothy Sr. (Trudy); son-in-law, Jim Sutton; grandchildren, Shiloh, Emily, Tim Jr., Jill, David, Sara, Joshua, Jakab, Joseph, Ashley, Nikolas; also, great-grandchildren, Anthony, Noah, Braydon, Annabelle, Aden, Matthew and Elena.
Margit also leaves behind her cherished family members and friends remaining in Hungary.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, November 10, 2011 at Cox Funeral Home, 222 Norton Ave. in Barberton. Burial at Greenlawn Cemetery. Family will receive friends TODAY from 5 to 8 p.m.
