Marilyn Eleanor Labbe (Snyder)

Marilyn Eleanor (Snyder) Labbe, 86, died peacefully on December 9, 2017, in Akron, after an extended struggle with Alzheimer's Disease.

Marilyn was born in Akron, Ohio on Christmas Eve 1930 and spent most of her life there, moving to Pittsburgh, Pa. during her high school years. There, she graduated from Aspinwall High School and attended reunions for almost 50 years with the great lifelong friends she made. Upon graduation, Marilyn returned to Akron with plans to attend the University of Akron, but her father's untimely death forced her to abandon those and go to work full time to help her mother support the family. She worked at Ohio Bell for a number of years, gathering additional lifelong friends. Upon marriage to Chuck in 1956, she was able to stop working and devote herself to the business of full time homemaking and being a fabulous mother to their five children raised in their Cuyahoga Falls home. After a stint working part-time at Sears, she started a career at Falls Savings & Loan in 1979 and rose from teller to Vice President of Retirement Accounts, retiring in 1994. After retirement, she was able to travel extensively with her Ohio Bell friends. Marilyn was a longtime member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish in Cuyahoga Falls and was particularly devoted to the Mother of Sorrows ministry. She will be remembered for her sincere interest in others, her wonderful ability to listen, her beautiful gardening and her excellent cooking skills.

She was preceded in death 37 years ago by her beloved and forever-missed husband, Charles William Labbe. As was their Saturday tradition, we assume that Dad was waiting for her and they enjoyed a Manhattan and laughed and talked through the night. (They had a lot of catching up to do!) Also preceding her were her father and mother, John and Florence Snyder.

Left behind to remember and miss her are her five children, Diane (Jerry) Parsons, Joyce Cartor, Steven (Mary) Labbe, Julie (Larry) Musci, and Edward (Laurel) Labbe. She is also survived by her "13 Joys", her grandchildren, Jennifer, Scott, Craig, and Elizabeth Parsons, Cody and Dylan Jones, Benjamin, Vincent, Jaclyn and Jared Musci, and Natalie, Caden and Holden Labbe and her three great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind two sisters, Colleen (Martin) Cahill and Roberta (Larry) Brown.

Calling hours will be on December 28 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Ciriello & Carr Funeral Home, 810 Portage Tr. in Cuyahoga Falls. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church on December 29 at 10 a.m.

Interment at All Saints Cemetery.
