Mary (Shanfelt) Donohoe entered eternal life on January 1, 2009.
She was an incredibly loving and joyful woman. She lived a life of faith to her God, commitment to her family and generosity to her friends and community. She was a pianist, singer, artist and an avid walker. Mary was a member of Our Lady of Victory Church and presently a member of St. Francis DeSales Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Ray Donohoe; parents, Owen and Susan Shanafelt; and her brother, Richard Shanafelt. She is survived by her children, Tom (Kim) Donohoe, Owen Donohoe, Suzanne Donohoe, Raymond Donohoe, Diane (Jim) Mellody; twin brother, Jerry (Sue) Shanafelt; grandchildren, John Paul, Brian, Christopher, Dillon, Maria, Katie, and Annie; and great-grandson, Logan.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, January 6, 2009 at St. Francis DeSales Church with Father David G. Bline officiating. Visitation will be 4 until 8 p.m. Monday at the DONOVAN FUNERAL HOME, 17 SOUTHWEST AVE. (On the Historic Tallmadge Circle). Memorial donations may be made in her name to St. Francis DeSales Church, 4019 Manchester Rd., Akron 44319 or to Poor Clares - France, 115 E. Market St., Suite 201, Akron, Ohio 44308.

Dear Donohoe family, Jerry & Sue,
Joan and I extend our sympathy for the passing of Mary. My memories go back to our growing up days when I would spend happy times on the farm. Mary was always so sweet and I loved to hear her laugh. We always looked forward to seeing her on Thanksgivings at the Suffield Town Hall. She will be missed.
