Mary Meehan Poore Obituary
Age 51 Gilbert AZ died after a valiant battle with MDS, on January 5, 2014 surrounded by her family. Preceded by father Clinton Meehan, she is survived by husband Corey Poore; mother Raydelle Meehan of Omaha; daughter Kimberly; grandson Thurman; siblings, Mary, Jeff, Joe, and Grace; nieces and nephews; cousins and friends; and her beloved Peony. Born and raised in Omaha, NE, she moved to AZ in 1986. Christine and Corey met while employed at Southwest Airlines, and in 1996 they started a successful real estate business together, "Your Realtors for Life." Christine fought ovarian cancer with tenacity and grace for 15 years, and continued undaunted after being diagnosed with MDS in 2012. Her engaging personality, positive attitude, and zest for life captivated all who knew her. She was an avid environmentalist, supporter of healthy living, and participated in many clinical trials for cancer research. A Celebration of Life memorial will be held Sunday, February 16, 1PM at Val Vista Lakes.

Christine was one of the most positive and kind individuals I ever met. She was always focused on others and never wanted the attention directed towards her. When you spoke with her she always made you feel special. Her light shinned bright in our RE/MAX Office and she will de missed... but not forgotten. We admired and respected Corey and Christine's decision to keep their challenges private, however, we were all deeply concerned and hoped they knew how much we cared.

I don't think I ever saw Christine without a bright smile on her face! She had so much joy and energy, even in the midst of her struggles. I went to High School at Central with her, we were friends and choir mates. I am deeply saddened, if only because she was such a beautiful soul. I am in shock and disbelief. Chris and I were the best of friends in high school and although our lives have taken us in different directions, the memories of all the silly, stupid things we did back then have forever been held dear in my heart.
