Michael Darnell Jones, 52, went home to be with the Lord April 24, 2006, in Riverside, Calif.
Born in Akron, Ohio, he later moved to Fontana, Calif. He was a Chemical Dependency Counselor and was a member of Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church.
Preceded in death by his father, Jesse Jones and sister, Ida Mae, he is survived by his loving wife, Arvilla Colbert Jones; sons, Michael Jones, Jr., Mark Jones and Tyler Colbert; daughter, Toka Hamilton; mother, Ethel McGhee; brother, Reginald (Marta Ann) Jones; sisters, Mary (Michael) Starks and Deborah Jones (Lee Lee); two grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be Friday, May 12, 2006, at 11 a.m., at Rhoden Memorial Home, 1101 Palmetto Ave., with Pastor Vince Colbert officiating. Friends may call at the chapel on Friday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service. Interment at Mt. Peace Cemetery. Procession will form and condolences may be sent to 821 Kinnebec Ave., Akron, 44305. (Rhoden Memorial Home, 330-724-1201.)
