Norman Elias Obituary
"We will continue to love God and love one another," were some of the last words Norman Naseem Elias, 84, heard from his children and grandchildren before he was delivered into the hands of his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. His wife Alice of 56 years and all his family surrounded him when he passed away May 14, 2018.
Services will be held 11 a.m. Friday at St. George Orthodox Church with Rev. John Alassaf assisted by Archdeacon Joseph Harb and Deacon James Reale officiating. Friends may call 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at St. George Orthodox Church and 1 hour before services on Friday. Trisagion prayer service to be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at the church. Interment with military honors will be at Rose Hill Burial Park. Memorials may be made to the St. George Building Fund, 3204 Ridgewood Rd., Akron, OH 44333.

Was thinking about Norm the other day --Just miss that at our Old School reunions that we have every August that Norm is no longer going to come up to you with that big smile and his bear hug and his kiss that he had for everyone---that was NORM.

Norman was such a kind, warm, and caring man who remarkably, made everyone lucky enough to know him feel like they were special and mattered. He definitely was a uniquely bright light on this earth. Our condolences go out to his family and friends whom he cherished so deeply. He will truly be missed by so many whose lives he touched in numerous positive ways. Norman profoundly exemplified "the life well-lived."

Alice,We just heard the sad news of Norm's passing! We are so very sorry to hear this heartbreaking news! I will never forget stopping in the insurance office and ALWAYS getting those big wonderful hugs from him! What a beautiful family you have! He will be dearly missed! Hugs to you all!

I just learned of Norm's passing, and realized that the world is now a lesser place. Norm was a wonderful man, with a smile that lit up a room, and I will very much miss him. His love of family was always evident, and on display for all to see. It is very clear that he and Alice raised children that would make any parent proud, and it makes me happy anytime that the Elias family come to dine at my restaurant. My thoughts and prayers are truly with Alice and family.

Norm was our family insurance guy and family friend for many years and did business the way business should be done; he and Alice were so helpful to my mom when dad passed away. However, I knew him first as Mr. Elias, who always welcomed me with a warm smile and hug when I came to play with Renee in the neighborhood when we were growing up. My prayers and hugs go to all of the Elias family as you gather to celebrate his amazing life.

Mr. Elias was a beacon of light and I will always remember his kindness and happiness. His laughter and joy were infectious. He always made you feel like you were the most important person in the room when he was talking to you. Every time I hear the song "Hurts So Good" I think of Mr. Elias dancing. God blessed my life by giving me the privilege of knowing such a wonderful person. He will be greatly missed.

Norm was an amazing individual that God blessed us with his presence here on earth. Norm was always smiling and ready to give you a kiss. He eagerly shared God's greatest gift, Love, with everyone he met. May God grant him Memory Eternal!

What a wonderful husband/father/friend he was to many! I will always remember the fun times we had at Manchester Swim Club in the summers and the great times I had at the Elias home. I met Mr and Mrs Elias and Renee maybe 7 years ago when I was looking to get some insurance. They were all so very nice, friendly and helpful. Mr Elias was funny. I still have the music CD he gave me that his son made. Mr Elias spoke highly of his family. You could hear how proud he was and how much he loved his family. My condolences and prayers to Mrs Elias, Renee and the Elias Family. Rest in peace Mr Elias.
